On June 23, 2025 Curtis W. Roulhac of Portsmouth VA was called to heaven. He was born in Danville
VA, on September 9, 1940 and moved to Portsmouth at a very young age. Curtis attended Norcom High
school where he played the trumpet in the school band. Upon graduation, he attended Minot State
University where he earned a BA degree. He also attended the Georgia Military College where he
earned an Associate degree in Applied Science/General Education. Curtis loved music. From his high
school trumpet days, he played Soprano Bugle in the Lackland AFB Drum and Bugle Corp. He continued
his education in the Air Force, and earned several commendation medals before retiring after 21 years of
service at the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Curtis also worked at the Portsmouth Police Department for thirteen years before permanently retiring to
enjoy a life of leisure with his family and also sang Base in St James Episcopal Church Choir in
Portsmouth. He is currently a member of Trinity Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved spouse Patricia; three daughters, Marian, (Larissa (Jason) and
Juanita; a son Dana (Estella), William (nephew), eight grandchildren, twelve great- grandchildren and his
many friends and family.
TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY:
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
Feel no guilt in laughter, I’d know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that I’m not there to share.
You cannot grieve forever, I would not want you to
I’d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
