Aaron V. Evans Sr, devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully
on June 6, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on July 13, 1959, Aaron lived a full and vibrant life in
Norfolk, Virginia, surrounded by those who loved him dearly.
Aaron is survived by his beloved wife, Jamy Evans; his children, Candice Hughes (Desmond),
Ryan Evans (Candice), Aaron Evans Jr. (Olivia), and Leah Jenkins (Bryant); his mother, Danier
Evans; and his sister, Denise Amos. He was predeceased in death by his father, Clinton Evans.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A true craftsman at heart, Aaron loved working with his hands and took pride in his work in
property management, HVAC, and general maintenance. He was known for his ability to fix just
about anything — a talent he generously shared with others throughout his life.
Outside of work, Aaron found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, a lover of
music, and an enthusiastic chess player. A self-proclaimed history buff, he had a particular
fascination with World War II and could often be found reading or watching documentaries. He
had a great sense of humor, fancied himself a comedian, and had a lifelong admiration for
Richard Pryor. On game days, you could count on him to be cheering on his favorite football
team, the Washington Commanders.
Aaron’s legacy is one of hard work, laughter, love, and deep devotion to his family. His memory
will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the lives he touched.
The family will be accepting flowers in his memory. The family asks that you remember him by
sharing a joke, casting a fishing line, or simply enjoying time with your loved ones — just as
Aaron would have wanted. His presence will be deeply missed by his entire family and the many
friends who were fortunate to know him.
