Cheryl J. Steward

Cheryl “Niecy” Steward, 65, passed away on May 14, 2025 in Portsmouth Virginia. She was a native of Portsmouth, borned on July 16, 1959.

She achieved an Associates degree in Accounting from Tidewater Community College. Her favorite past time was cooking and She loved to cook for family even long after they were empty nesters. Niecy was an avid Washington ” Redskins” now Commanders fan. She loved the game..

A caring and loving daughter, wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Freddie G. Steward, her son, Johnnie Steward, daughter in-law,Tiffany Steward and grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Yushemma Jones, her brother, Fred Jones, sister-in-law, Sylvia Jones and her Father, Rious Jones. She is preceeded in death by her Mother Mary F. Jones, sister, Jacqueline D Jones and her daughter, Erika Steward..
