Samuel “SJ” Jordan was born on February 9, 1948 to Martha Jordan and Samuel S. Jordan. He passed away from natural causes on June 2, 2025. He was deeply affected, by the loss of his wife, the late Deborah D. Jordan after 47 years of a loving marriage.
He was a devoted and honorable family man, cherished by his children, grandchildren and all who knew him. Samuel had a passion for sports, which he shared with friends and family throughout his life. He also had an honorable career, first serving as a multichannel transmission system operator in the Armed Forces. Afterward, he retired 43 years as a service weldsman with Huntington Ingalls.
Samuel is survived by his children, Michael Jordan, Jermon Jordan, LaShonne Jordan, Michelle Jenkins (Xavier D. Jenkins) and his adopted neighborhood daughter Quinetta Holloway. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, and his siblings: Janice Jordan, Pernell Jordan, Gracie Jordan
